Trent Kinney, Pitcher, has a lengthy history with the game of baseball. He played at Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He continued playing into college at JUCO, where he was the Relief Pitcher of the Year, and then Mississippi Valley State University.
Kinney’s baseball career was heavily influenced by his boss Andy at the Baseball Academy in Las Vegas. He encouraged and mentored Trent, and helped make his college career a possibility.
Off the field, Trent Kinney studied communication at Mississippi Valley State University. In his spare time, Kinney enjoys exploring his creative side by writing stories and even novels. He also enjoys the time he spends back home, reveling in the Las Vegas atmosphere with friends and family.
Trent Kinney is in his second year with the St. Joseph Mustangs. He was initially drawn to the team because of his close friend Dixon Marble, who also pitches for the Mustangs. Kinney also loves the atmosphere that comes with playing at Historic Phil Welch Stadium. “The atmosphere and energy that this crowd brings is awesome, even better than Division I,” Kinney said.
Trent is excited to be back with the team. He is also very optimistic about the ceiling of the 2015 Mustangs team, saying he is most looking forward to “getting the ring,” and attempting to win the M.I.N.K. League Championship two years straight.
