July 13th, 2017

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Mustangs are announcing an additional game to the 2017 season, to be played at Phil Welch Stadium..

Wednesday, July 19th the Mustangs will face off against the Joplin Outlaws at Phil Welch Stadium, however the Mustangs will be the visiting team. This matchup is a rescheduled game from the July 5th game that was rained out in Joplin. Due to complications with field scheduling in Joplin, the game has been moved to St. Joseph.

The Mustangs and United Way have partnered together for the July 9th game- all general admission tickets will be free, with a monetary donation of any size to the United Way.

This will be the second time this season the Mustangs have opened their gates free of charge, with donations going towards a local area charity. On June 20th, fans helped raise over $1000 for Autism Alliance of Northwest Missouri.

Assistant General Manager Tim Hannah says this extra home game in the perfect opportunity to give back to the community.

“It’s important to us here in the Mustangs organization to give back to the community and we thought what better way than to use this extra game as a catalyst to help those in need.” said Hannah. “This game will serve as a great opportunity for fans to enjoy a Mustangs game free of charge, while also benefitting a local charity that does so much for the area.”

Mustang reserved box seat season ticket holders will still have their normal seats reserved, while all other general admission seating is available to guests as part of a donation to the United Way.

Gates will open at 5:30 and first pitch is set for 7. Fans can get tickets at the Box Office the day of the game. For more information call (816) 279-7856.
