Following a 2017 season that saw the St. Joseph Mustangs win the MINK League Championship for the fifth season in the last seven years, the team finishes ranked 20th among all Summer Collegiate Baseball teams, according to CollegiateSummerBaseball.com.

There are over 40 Collegiate Summer Baseball Leagues throughout the country, including Canada.

General Manager Ky Turner says that to be recognized nationally as a Top 20 team is a great honor.

“It means a lot to be mentioned among some of the best teams around the country,” Turner said. “It was an incredible season and I want to thank the players, coaches, staff and all the fans who made this season possible. We are excited for what the 2018 season has in store.”

The Mustangs were led by MINK League Pitcher of the Year Steven D’Amico and his team Co-Pitcher of the Year Nikko Pablo from the mound. Collectively they struck out an incredible 89 batters, in 84 innings. They combined for a record of 7-2 with four saves.

Catcher Brady Anderson lead the team from the diamond and at the plate at the Mustangs Most Valuable Player for the second year running. Anderson hit .305 with 9 2B, 1 HR and 30 RBIs.
