2022 St. Joseph Mustangs Roster Release

The St. Joseph Mustangs last walked off the field at Phil Welch Stadium on Friday, July 30th. The team swept the MINK League Championship Series against Sedalia, with a 12-2 victory in front of thousands in St. Joseph. Mustangs Manager Johnny Coy has released the 2022 roster that will return to that same field on Wednesday, June 1st.

The roster is highlighted with 15 returning players. Some notable returning players include Ike Book, named Co-MVP in 2021, and a Lafayette High School graduate. Joining Ike is Braden Berry, the 2021 Dan Dekraai Community Service Award winner, formerly of Savannah High School. Brady Holden, Will Hann, Sam Kissane, Sean O'Malley, and Book all return after being selected to the 2021 MINK League All-Star Game.

Additionally, some of the new faces to the team include second baseman Will Dryburg, a graduate of Leblond, and Camden Lutz, a St. Joseph Christian graduate. Jack Wagner, from the University of Kansas, returns to the team. Wagner played for the Mustangs in 2019.

Coy noted, "I am very excited to welcome these players back to the St. Joseph Mustangs baseball team. We have 15 returners who played huge roles in our 2019 and 2021 championships. This is a tremendous group of young men who won’t have to spend any time getting to know each other. The new additions are players who will make an immediate impact and contribute greatly in our attempt to bring another championship to the greatest fans in all of summer baseball here in Saint Joseph. We can't wait to see you on opening night Saint Joseph!"

The Mustangs open on Wednesday, June 1st, versus the Clarinda A's. The A's won the '21 MINK League North Division, before losing to the Mustangs in the Divisional Playoff. For tickets, please call the Mustangs at 816-279-7856.
