A Heartstopping Finale!

The St Joe Mustangs proved today that even though they may be down, never count them out. In a game against the Chillicothe Mudcats, the Mustangs would be pushed to their limit.

The first inning started with the Mudcats taking the lead, as a Mustang error earned them a 0-1 lead.

Carson Schrack had thoughts about that as he laced a single to center field that scored Carson Schmidt and Jackson Glueck to a 2-1 Mustangs lead.

A Mudcat double put the Mudcats ahead in the top of the third 2-3.

The top of the fourth had a fielder choice where a Mudcat reached first with an RBI, putting another run in the Mudcats lead 2-4.

The Mustangs responded at the bottom of the sixth when Truman Bodenhaus reached a Mudcat throwing error, letting Glueck cross home to score 3-4.

In a chaotic play, two Mudcats scored on Mustang errors, then was caught at second to end the inning.

Where Phil Welch was electric was the bottom of the ninth. After Ky and Tyler turned Phil Welch upside down, it was time for the inning to start.

Bodenhausen started with a single to center, followed by another single by his brother Noah Bodenhaus.

With runners on first and second, Schrack reached on a fielder choice with N. Bodenhaus out at second, and T. Bodenhaus safely went to third.

Darius Freeman suited up as a pinch hitter in the ninth for Mason Holton. In that second, everything fell silent, then erupted as the home plate umpire called the Mudcats pitcher for a balk, scoring Bodenhaus and advancing Schrack for a 4-6 score.

Freeman proves he's a pinch-hitting pro as he smacks a single to center field to put the Mustangs in arm's reach of the Mudcats with a 5-6 score.

Jeter Mauzey showed his speed as he reached on a fielder's choice, and after an overthrow by the second baseman, Freeman tied the game at 6-6

Trevor McCollum tags Mauzey out to pitch a run for him as Felix singles to the right and steals the second a few pitches later. All eyes are now on Logan Miller.

Miller, who was in a tense situation with McCollum on third and Felix on second, never flinched in these situations. He would send a ball into deep center field, already celebrating as McCollum crossed home for a Mustangs comeback victory.

Your player of the game is Logan Miller; after that, clutch at-bat to keep the Mustangs undefeated.

The Mustangs will be heading on a road trip to Chillicothe, where they will face the Mudcats at Shaffer Park at 5:05 p.m.
