Mustangs banished by Bombers

SAINT JOSEPH, Mo.-- The St Joe Mustangs ended up in a walk-off loss for the final regular season game against the Sedalia Bombers in a 4-3 loss.

The Mustangs end the regular season with an overall record of 37-8 and a conference record of 33-8, making them the first seed in the MINK league.

The Mustangs started today with Ben Bowman on the mound, who pitched four innings, giving up one hit and no runs.

In the third inning, Carson Schmidt hit a sacrifice groundout to score Jackson Glueck and put the Mustangs on the board 1-0.

Truman Bodenhausen scored in the fifth inning after the Bombers catcher had a throwing error to make the score 2-0.

In the fifth inning, there were player changes for both pitching and fielding, where the infield and outfield were all played by the Mustang's pitching staff.

Players like Carson Schrack, Dom Felix, Noah Bodenhausen, and Jeter Mauzey all took the mound against the Bombers.

Pitchers Noah Thomas and Schrack exited the game without giving up a run. Felix entered in the eighth and stayed in the ninth, where he gave up two runs to bring the game to extra innings.

With Sam Pitts on second in the tenth, Aron Harrington singled to bring home Pitts and was quickly tied up by the Bombers with their own single.

The Mustangs didn't score in the 11th, which the Bombers capitalized on with a walk-off single for the Mustang's eighth loss.

The Mustangs will play on Tuesday. Their opponents will be either the Jefferson City Renegades or the Carroll Merchants.

After the game is concluded, more information will be posted on Mustang's social media.
