Mustangs force game three!

The St Joe Mustangs force a game three after defeating the Clarinda A's in game two 5-3.


The Mustangs started with Sam Pitts on the mound who got out of a scary situation with a runner on first. Pitts came back in the second to exelent defense by Jordan Black at third base as well as a recorded strikeout.


The Mustangs scored two runs in the second after Noah Bodenhausen's RBI single putting the Mustangs ahead 2-0.


The A's took the lead in the third after an RBI single and scored two more runs after an error by Mason Holton for a 2-3 lead in the third inning.


Jeter Mauzey ties the game in the third with a towering home run to left field tying the game up at 3.


Holton puts the Mustangs ahead in the fifth with a sacrifice fly to score Carson Schrack to make the score 4-3.


Jace Johnson entered the game in the sixth where he recorded two strikeouts and picked up two more strikeouts in the seventh and eighth without giving up any runs.


Mason Holton extended the Mustangs lead in the eighth inning with a solo homerun to left field making the score 5-3.


In the nineth inning, Johnson returned to the mound to give up back to back singles. Just when the A's looked to have a chance, Schrack makes an amazing 5-4 double play and Johnson finishes the game with a strikeout for a 5-3 win.


Your Mustangs player of the game is Mason Holton who went three for three with a home run the the eighth inning.


The Mustangs return for the final game of the 2024 MINK leauge season at Phil Welch Stadium where they will face the A's in a winner takes all game three. Gates open at 5:30 and the game starts at 7:00.
